About the Nursery
The College Nursery has been open since 1989 and is registered with Ofsted (Click here to check our latest Ofsted reports).
Who is able to use the nursery?
We offer places to City College staff and students, as well as families who have no connections to the college. We operate a waiting list system for all nursery admissions, Click here to join the nursery waiting list.
Aims of City College Nursery
The Nursery aims to provide a caring, happy, secure and stimulating environment so that your child will be guided at an early stage in the process of developing into a thinking, caring and responsible member of society.
Staff Information
All staff are qualified in childcare. Staff are chosen for their personal qualities. Every opportunity is given for staff to develop professional skills.
Location:
The nursery is situated within a secure area at the back of the college grounds.
Opening Hours:
Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm. The morning session is from 8am to 1pm. The afternoon session from 1pm to 6pm.
The Nursery is open all year round with the exception of bank holidays, 2 staff development days and a closure between Christmas and New Year.
Age Groups:
The Nursery is divided into four age groups. Each group has its own base room.

Nursery Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Have you a nursery place for my child as soon as possible?
A: We operate on a waiting list system for all nursery admissions. It is preferable to send us a waiting list form asap so that we have all the information for our records.
Q: Are you open throughout the year?
A: The nursery is open all year round with the exception of bank holidays and closures between Christmas and New Year.
Q: Is the nursery open to someone not connected to City College?
A: We offer places to City College students and staff, as well as families with no connections to the college.
Q: What are your opening times?
A: We are open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
Q: Do you take children with special needs?
A: We aim to be an inclusive nursery and as such are open to all. WE have a Senco (Special Educational Needs coordinator) who would asses your child before starting with us if requested.
Q: Can I come and look round the nursery?
A: We welcome prospective parents and offer a guided tour around our nursery. An appointment can by made by calling or emailing us at the nursery.
