A warm welcome to all families and children that have joined us during the Autumn term. We hope your children have settled into nursery life and are enjoying the time they spend with us.

Tesco/Sainsbury Vouchers |
|
A big thank you from the children for your help in collecting the vouchers for schools last term. We did very well with our collection and have received some lovely toys and equipment for the nursery.

Tempest Photography |
|
The photographer will be at the nursery to take children’s photos on Thursday 21st October from 10am to 11.30am to take photographs of all the nursery children.
If Thursday morning is not your child’s normal nursery session, please feel free to bring them in between 10am and 10.15am if you would like to have their photograph taken. Tempest will send proofs of the photos home for you on a no obligation basis. Read more |

Our Nursery World |
|
This term we have as our Nursery reception area display ‘Our Nursery World’. This display links into many of our Early Years Foundation Stage long term plans including ‘Knowledge and Understanding of the World’. The idea came from the children who showed a lot of interest in our display on the ‘World Cup 2010’ and the flags of the world. Read more |

Enrichment Events |
|
During the autumn term we will be joining in with some of the enrichment events held in the main college. We feel that these events give the children a wider understanding of the outside world and are an opportunity for us to enhance their learning while at nursery. Read more |

Farmyard Room News |
|
Welcome to the new children, parents/carers into the Farmyard room.
This term we will be developing our wall display about our children and their families. We would be grateful for a photo of your child with their family to add to our display.
We also have a wall display about ‘Countries of the World’ and will be featuring a different country each month. We hope to illustrate these countries with objects of interest/souvenirs/photos etc and would appreciate anything you could bring in from home to add to the display. Read more |

Woodland Room News |
|
We have started the Autumn term by exploring our nursery environment. On a nature walk we collected conkers, feathers and autumn leaves to display. We will be discussing autumn in greater depth during the first half of the term. Read more |

Rainbow Room News |
|
This term we have childcare student Jennifer Marshall with us on Monday and Tuesdays. Jenny is here to gain work experience as part of her course and is enjoying being with the children very much. While students in the nursery are a welcome addition to our rooms they are supervised by nursery staff at all times. Read more |

Sunshine Room News |
|
Clare and Jenna will be in the Sunshine room this term. Kerry, a Senior Nursery Nurse will be returning from maternity leave at the end of October and is based in the Sunshine room.
This term we are looking forward to doing lots of art and craft activies in the room as the children seem to love doing this. We will have fun using finger paints, painting with brushes and sticking to make some lovely displays. The children have made painted hand prints and we will be cutting these out to make the leaves for our tree for the wall display on this terms Autumn theme. Read more |

Shoe Boxes for Romania – Collection during October 2010 |
|
Load the Lorry 2010 is on its way. Please help us to put a smile on the face of thousands of children in Romania this Christmas by helping us to pack some shoebox full of little treats and sweets. A list of the items needed will be up in the reception area.

Children in Need – Friday 19th November 2010 |
|
Once again we will be showing our support for Children in Need that helps the most disadvantaged children and young people here in the UK. The children will be participating in various activities connected with Pudsey Bear and his new friend Blush. To support Children in Need we will be holding a ‘Teddy Bears Picnic’ at the nursery on Friday 19th November 10. If possible we would like all the children to dress in something yellow and bring in a teddy from home (labelled with child's name please!) Read more |

Staff News |

Congratulations to Natasha (Farmyard room) on the birth of her baby girl, Isla Rose on 2nd September 2010.
Vicky, also Farmyard room, will be going off on maternity leave from the 18th October. We wish her all the best for her forthcoming happy event!
Kerry, who is Senior Nursery Nurse in the Rainbow and Sunshine rooms on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday pm, (Job Share with Caroline), will be returning from maternity leave on 11th October, after having baby Olivia last September. Welcome back Kerry. Read more |
