From 2012 the cost of a full-time higher education course at City College will be £5,999 per year. (However if you are moving from a Founation Degree to a Top-Up Degree - you will be charged at the old rate of approx. £3375.)
You would normally be eligible for a tuition fee loan from Student Finance England to cover the cost of this fee. There may also be maintenance loans and maintenance grants available depending on your circumstances. For more information about what you may be entitled to and how to apply visit their website:

Student loans do not have to be paid back until after you complete your course and you are earning at least £21,000.
If you have dependent children you may also be eligible for other help such as a parent’s learning allowance or a child care grant. If you are disabled you may be eligible for a Disabled Student’s Allowance.
You will be required to pay 25% of your fee at the time of enrolment if you haven't already applied to Student Finance England.
Access to Learning Fund (ALF)
The college also has a small, means-tested hardship scheme called the Access to Learning Fund. If your access to Higher Education is affected by financial considerations then we may be able to help. Application forms are available from the Advice Shop after you have started your course.
Part Time Higher Education Students
With effect from 2012 - loans will be avialable to you if you study on a part time HE course. For more details about this scheme see:

Fees for part-time Higher Education courses are charged at the rate of £215 per 10 credit module.
Disabled Students' Allowance

Social Work Students
If you study on the full-time or part time Applied Social Work BA degree course then you may be eligible for a bursary from the NHS Business Sevices Authority. For more information see the following website:

Council Tax Exemption
If you study full-time, the college can provide you with a council tax exemption certificate which you can pass to your local authority.
Emergency Loan Fund
If your payments from Student Finance England are delayed, then the college may be able to offer you an emergency loan.
