Vocational Options

Summary: 

An exciting and challenging programme designed to develop your personal skills and give you a chance to use and practice the skills you will need for your next step.  Vocational Options is a flexible programme, from our School of Foundation Studies, which will help you to explore vocational options and plan for your next move. 

This Entry Level 2 and 3 course is intended for learners who may be lacking in confidence or social skills and need a supported year to make appropriate choices.  Classes are in groups of up to 12.

3 days per week
Entry Requirements: 

By interview.

Assessment: 

This will be through moderation of the City and Guilds NPTC Skills for Working Life Award.

Academic Progression: 

Learners can progress onto a Level 1 vocational course, a Progressions course or into employment/training.

Career Progression: 

Learners are able to choose from a wide variety of options to help make informed decisions about their future.

This new course has four pathways which include:

  • Retail and Administration
  • Health and Social Care
  • Creative Art and Media

And

  • For those who are undecided, there is a multichoice option

You will work towards your own individual targets.  The programme includes a variety of elements:

Basic Skills

Work on improving your skills in Communication, Number and IT.

Qualifications

Basic Skills, City & Guilds NPTC Skills for Working Life Entry Level 2/3.
