You will need to be on target to achieving a combined score of 15 or more in your English, Maths and Science Key Stage three assessment, have a very good record regarding behaviour and motivation, and above average attendance.

Academic Progression: 

The Young Apprenticeship programme provides an excellent springboard for a range of post-16 Level three (Advanced) opportunities including BTEC Nationals, A Levels, and Advanced Apprenticeships, with the opportunity to progress to Higher Education. Possible careers include professional actor, choreographer, theatre manager, lighting/sound engineer and many more.

Course Description:
If you are interested in developing your skills and knowledge within the acting, dance or production technical theatre) sub-sectors of performing arts, then this Young Apprenticeship (YA) may be right for you. The course provides a unique insight for students into the Performing Arts business by incorporating real work experience and enabling students to partly specialise in one of three strands: acting, dance or production. The projects and assignments you will undertake are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands, and are designed to develop your skills and understanding of the performing arts sector. The course includes the BTEC First Diploma in Performing Arts (equivalent to four GCSEs at grades A*-C). You will also undertake 50 days of work-related learning, giving you a head start in the sector. You will be assessed by a variety of assessment methods, including case studies, assignments, practical assessments and projects.
