The course is for talented and motivated students aspiring to progress into the dance industry.  

The course provides a springboard to advanced dance training aiming to equip students with the level of skill and understanding required to audition at the dance schools and universities of their choice.  Through rigorous audition preparation the course aims to increase our students' chances of receiving Dance and Drama Awards and scholarship funding. 

The intensive dance course is for people who feel they need further technical training, audition experience, and professional support and guidance to give them the confidence and skills to reach the next step in their dance training.

5 GCSEs at Grade A-C (Grade A-C in English is essential) plus a minimum of 2 years dance experience.

Course Outline

The course offers intensive physical training which is professional and highly technically challenging with a strong focus on each individuals needs and specific audition preparation. 

Through daily technique classes in Ballet, Contemporary and Jazz the course will establish excellent technical grounding and push you to reach your potential.  Students will receive one on one assistance with their audition preparation through classes in choreography, performance, interview technique and the application procedure.  We aim to create a safe and supportive environment guiding students through this complex and often stressful process.

The teachers are committed and dedicated to developing dynamic and confident dancers and have extensive professional teaching and industry experience.  Students will also benefit from a wide range of workshops, performance and guest teachers.  

Our state of the art facilities include three purpose built dance studios located in the city centre.  Each studio is mirrored with a sprung floor, air conditioning and P.A system.  Our 200 seated theatre has an excellent lighting and sound system and rehearsal space.  Learning is also supported through access to the College library and learner resource centre and pastoral and financial support services.

Where it can take you

Past students have graduated onto vocational schools such as:  Laban, Urdang, LIPA, Performers, Masters, BodyWorks, Stella Mann, E15 and universities including:  Middlesex, Liverpool John Moores, Chichester, Surrey and Dartington.  Past students have also entered straight into employment including work in the fitness industry and as professional performers.
 
We have developed strong industry links allowing us to have direct contacts with employers such as dance management, technical theatre, costume, project management and teaching specialists opening exciting career routes.
