If you want to pursue a career in the performing arts, this is an ideal starting point and will give you an exciting mix of practical and theoretical skills and knowledge prior to the BTEC National Extended Diplomas or AS/A2 programmes.
To enrol on this course you will need four GCSEs at Grades D-G and will have participated in a one-day workshop/audition where you will present a monologue of your choice.
Areas of study include acting, musical theatre, production and dance.
This course is continuously assessed through a combination of practical and theoretical study.
After successfully completing this course you could progress onto the full time two year BTEC National Extended Diploma programme in one of the four pathways of Acting, Dance, Musical Theatre or Production.
This programme offers an ideal starting point for a career in performing arts prior to the BTEC National Extended Diplomas or AS/A2 programmes.
Study is primarily practical and linked to the theoretical aspects of the specific discipline. The course includes modules in industry related business and staging a public performance. Subject specific units related to each performance discipline are also delivered. In total learners will study six modules, two acting, two production, one singing and one dance.
