Edexcel BTEC L3 Diploma in Business with Retail
This course has been developed by BTEC to provide a nationally recognised and vocationally specific qualification with which to enter employment or to progress to higher education such as a degree in business and/or management or an associated specialist field, such as Retail. The College is also part of the National Skills Academy for Retail and has developed a Retail Shop and Training Centre in the heart of Norwich.
The Course is equivalent to 3 A levels and this is made up of the BTEC Diploma in Business (equivalent to 2 A levels) and the ABC Diploma in Fashion Retail (equivalent to 1 A level). The BTEC Diploma in Business contains specific Retail units as well as Business subjects. The ABC Diploma in Fashion Retail further extends your knowledge, understanding and skills.
Course Length:2 years
Minimum of 3 days in College
5 GCSEs grades A-C including English (and Maths at minimum grade D). Achievement at Merit grade for progression from BTEC L2/First Diploma.
Course work through a variety of assessment methods including assignments, presentation, reports, observations and discussion. You will achieve either a Pass, Merit or Distinction for each unit and the overall grade for the course will be assessed on the level of achievement in all units. If you perform exceptionally throughout the course you will be awarded a Distinction.
To further study eg degree or professional qualification or to employment and part time study

Ø Additional Units include Internet Marketing in Business, Starting a Small Business, Market Research, Recruitment and Selection, Creative Product Promotion, Food Retailing, Supply Chain and Stock Management, Business and the Economic Environment
Ø Mandatory units for the ABC Diploma in Fashion include Management Skills for Retail, Store Operations for Retail, Buying and Merchandising for Fashion Retail, Visual Merchandising, Professional Development in Retail management
Ø Additional units include Developing Retail Brands, Style Advising in Fashion Retail, Pixel based Image Manipulation, Research and Design development - Fashion Image
