Business, Administration & Finance Foundation Diploma

Summary: 

The BTEC National Award in Retail will be offered as a specialist pathway of the Business, Adminsitration and Finance Diploma.  A new Diploma in Retail will be offered in 2010.

Business Finance and Accounts is one of the core units of the new Business, Adminsitration and Finance  Diploma.  A further Accounts specialist qualification may be available in addition to this.

The Foundation Diploma in Business, Administration and Finance is an ideal course for you if you are interested in the business world and you would like an introduction to this challenging and profitable sector. 

Students who have the right business skills and qualities will find a vast range of career opportunities.  You might find yourself working in sales and marketing, financial services, human resources or even running your own business.

Academic Progression: 

This Diploma is designed to keep your options open. It could lead to the Higher Diploma in Business, Administration and Finance, one of the other Higher Diplomas available, another Level two course at the College or an apprenticeship with an employer.

Career Progression: 

The programme also allows you to find out about a wide range of jobs and careers available within the business, administration and finance sectors.

Full Description: 

You will learn about the different types of products and services and how to carry out market research and promotions. You will cover some financial basics too, like sources of financial advice, personal budgeting and bank accounts. 

As well as providing a solid grounding in business, the Diploma will help you develop personal skills such as motivating yourself and communicating with others.  Working as part of a team, you will be able to practice some of the key administrative roles and develop valuable team-working skills that you will find useful in your future career.  During the course, you will also be able to do at least ten days’ work-experience, which is a great way to apply what you have learnt in a working environment.
