Summary:
This Honours degree award (one year top-up from a foundation degree) has been designed for those who wish to develop their leadership and management knowledge and skills in a realistic work related context.
Entry Requirements:
Students entering the programme will normally have 240 credits from a Foundation degree (or equivalent).
BA (Hons) students on entry will normally have an FdA from UEA (City College Norwich) - with appropriate knowledge and skills relevance towards the course and relevant work experience (to be determined by UEA guidelines and upon application and interview).
Assessment:
- Assessments enable the student to study the course content, develop and apply their learning through the lens of their own working environment. These will take the form of:
- (a) Assignments and Dissertation Project will be work-based e.g. projects, case, a reflective log and portfolio. All formal assessment activities are based on the reality of the students’ workplace and employers have contributed to the development of the activities.
- (b) Exams (these will be fully supported with learning materials)
Career Progression:
The programme is designed for managers and leaders in a work place. It is expected that career development and progression will follow or accompany successful completion of the award. The award recognises the need to ensure that leadership and managerial skills are transferable.
Full Description:
The course develops the student’s:
- own work based leadership and management capabilities in areas which improve personal and organisational (public, private, not-for-profit, large, small, national) efficiency and effectiveness.
- leadership and management work based knowledge and skills through reflection and training of others in the work place.
