Target Audience
This course is designed for new users to AutoCAD.
Aim
This is a 4 day course or 10 evening course aims to provide individuals with a knowledge of AutoCAD such that they can produce and edit working drawings. This is a foundation course on which to build further knowledge using a range of additional modules. This course will familiarise the new AutoCAD user with the features of AutoCAD that are essential for getting started to use the software for professional applications. The courseware includes instruction, examples and hands-on exercises.
Content
On completion of the course, delegates will have covered:
- Identify key user interface components.
- Create new and open existing drawings.
- Pan and zoom your drawings, and create and restore named views.
- Create 2D Geometry by specifying points and drawing lines.
- Create objects from basic geometry such as circles, ellipses, rectangles, polylines, arcs, splines, and construction lines.
- Understand layer principals and use the Layer Properties Manager to create layers and modify their properties.
- Use various methods to select objects for editing drawings.
- Edit and modify objects to create geometry by using Copy, Trim, Extend, Offset, Chamfer, Fillet, Array, polyline editing, Mirror, and Stretch.
- Use Grips to edit objects.
- Create text using text styles, and enhance drawings with hatch patterns and gradient fills.
- Dimension your drawings by using dimension styles.
- Use inquiry commands
- Use design centre
- Output drawings, from models or layouts, to a plotter for hardcopy.
