This is the second level of the full AAT Diploma and a qualification in its own right. If you want a career as an accountancy technician, these AAT qualifications will be your essential choice. They are widely recognised and valued, will make you more employable and will give you more options should you choose to progress further.
You will need to have achieved the Certificate in Accounting, Pitman Level 2 or have a working knowledge of double entry book keeping. Working in the area of accountancy is desirable but not essential.
Modules studied for this widely respected qualification include Financial accounting, Recording and analysing costs and revenues, Operating a cash management and credit control system, Accounting work skills, and Professional ethics for accounting technicians (new unit).
You can progress to the AAT Diploma programme.
This AAT qualification - the middle part of the full AAT Diploma pathway - is competence-based and does not have the workplace evidence requirement of NVQ programmes. It is streamlined and flexible and includes a new Professional Ethics for Accounting Technicians unit: a market-leading innovation much valued by employers. The programme delivers a high level of practical skills, knowledge and effective performance in the workplace and gives progression to AAT full membership and the UK chartered accountancy qualifications.
