Vacancy Description:

We are a busy restaurant and have a Japanese style menu. We seat approx 32 covers but also do functions, we have a conference room. We are situated next to John Lewis and have a busy lunch and evening service.

As Apprentice Chef, you will assist the Chef and train to skillfully produce a variety of food dishes to a high standard of preparation, production and presentation, working to costed recipes, stock rotation and ensuring timely service delivery from the kitchen.

You will be expected to prepare & cook vegetables, salads, sweets butchery, sauces and get involved with all general kitchen duties.

You will be required to work well as part of a team and you must be prepared to take direction & guidance from senior members of the kitchen team.

Enthusiasm and a true passion for food are key to this role

Apprenticeships are work-based training programmes designed around the needs of employers, which lead to nationally recognised qualifications.  The Apprenticeship in Hospitality and Catering - Professional Cookery (Route E) Level 2 is built up of a framework consisting of: City & Guilds Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Professional Cookery (Preparation and Cooking) (QCF), City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Hospitality and Catering Principles (Professional Cookery) (QCF) and functional skills levels 1.
