Choosing a Course
Where do I start?
There are four steps to take to help you decide if City College Norwich is right for you and if you think we can help you on the right road to the job you want.
1. Decide if City College Norwich sounds like the place for you?
Great facilities and excellent support with your studies, your success will always come first - it could be the best decision you ever make! There are guides about studying full or part-time here that you can download or request from The Advice Shop or why not get a real feel for life at college by visiting on one of our Open Days?
2. Choose where in the College you would like to study?
Is the Business and Computing School for you? Or is creative Arts more your thing? There are 10 Schools or study centres to choose between, each offering a diverse range of work-related qualifications to set you on the career path of your choice. Check out the Schools section in About Us - you can download a School Guide or request a copy from The Advice Shop.
Help and guidance is free if you would like to talk through your options with one of our specialist advisers.
3. Work out what Level to study at?
No matter what stage you are at we will have a course to suit you. Even if you did not feel that school enabled you to make the most of your potential, you may find that college is more for you. We will discuss with you what Level is best for you and ensure you join an appropriate course and take that next step to meeting your ambition. See Qualification Guide for more details.
4. Choose a specific course?
Once you have decided on the area you are interested in, it is time to apply for a specific course - either a work-related course at one of the Schools, a course of A Levels at the Sixth Form Centre or a Higher Education programme. Our Guides to full and part-time courses will explain in greater detail the courses offered in each School, what you will be studying and the kinds of people you will be studying with.
If you are in any doubt about what is best for you, and what the best route is to the future you want, then call or drop in to The Advice Shop for advice and guidance, or come to one of our Open Days.
