Employer Partnerships
The Employer Partnerships Team at City College Norwich is the primary point of contact for businesses across the region; offering individual, sector specific advice on training and development. The team keeps up to date with the ever-changing government funding opportunities, initiatives, and regulations that support business progression, education and development.

As your business evolves to meet the growing needs of your market place, you should be constantly assessing the skills of your staff, and the training that needs to be addressed.  We are here to help businesses like yours identify grants or funding available to support those needs and select the course/s that are right for your staff, to ensure you continue to meet your long term business objectives.

To enable us to do this effectively, one of our Employer Partnerships Consultants can visit your premises to carry out a Training Needs Analysis.  This will be based on the aims and objectives of your business, your employees’ current skill sets and the skills and knowledge required to achieve your future business targets.

They will also discuss with you the best method of delivery, either work based training or college attendance.  City College Norwich can also develop bespoke courses if your business requires specialist skills.

Student Employer Partnerships
The Student Employer Partnerships Team provide an invaluable link between the student, eager to learn but nervous of taking that all important first step, and the employer, who can benefit immensely from taking an active role in helping to shape the next generation of employees.  Taking a student on a work placement and offering them a basic structured learning programme may enable you to influence their future career choice, by increasing their overall awareness of the variety of opportunities available to them in your industry.

This is also the ideal opportunity to review your current health and safety practices, whilst helping students carry out their own personal risk assessment, reinforcing staff awareness.

As an employer you will then have a pool of fresh talent who know how your company operates, and therefore you will know who to choose, when you are next looking to recruit or require specific staff for an ad-hoc project.
Work placement students can bring fresh ideas to your organisation, looking at situations from a different perspective and giving their supervisors the chance to further develop their own interpersonal and people management skills.
